1. ezShare by Antecea Inc. Great tool to keep copies of important documents on your computer as well as your iPhone. The only downside is that it cannot print unless you are using a Mac and will sync the files. So if you change your file on your computer, you’ll need to download the file once again to your iPhone. It does, however, keep the same directory structure.
2. Endcamp by Encamp. Lets me see my web design project management tool with Basecamp. I can view my Milestones, Tasks, and messages from customers. Now I just need one for my online web maintenance management tool.
3. Evernote by the Evernote Corporation. This is my newest tool in my arsenal. It saves me hours of locating snippets of ideas, website passages, menus, etc. I now use it with Jott which allows me to call Jott, choose Evernote to ‘call,’ which in turn emails Evernote a transcribed version of my voicemail.
4. Pandora by Pandora. This tool isn’t much of web designer’s actual tool but can help when stuck with an idea and you need to get up off the chair and bounce around while listening to some cool “Hall & Oats” internet radio. Don’t laugh! I am a product of the 80′s.
5. Google Tools. While it’s not really an application, Google offers a way to access all their services. Even better you can search using your voice.  “Speak your queries instead of typing them (English only).”
6. Currently, I am trying out a new application, Ping. From here I can update all of my social networking sites like Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. Like a lip balm that is tinted and has SPF, anything that combines services in one, is a life saver! I’ll keep you posted..

iPhone Screenshots

By the way, did you know you can do a screenshot of your iPhone? I didn’t until recently. Press the ‘on/off’ button at the top of your iPhone and press the Home button at the same time. Then go to your Evernote application and paste it into a new note. Save it then you can access it from your computer and use it for a tutorial or test your websites. How cool, huh?

Hold down the top “power” button and tap the home button. Then using a tool like Evernote, you can ‘paste’ the picture in a new note, save it, and access it later on your PC. From your PC, email it to your programming team.

Moms and Dads

1. Shopper by Reach Everywhere. If you are like me, I would write my lists on a piece of paper but when I needed it, it was lying on my kitchen counter and not with me 2 days later when I found the time to do errands. This by far is my most used app. It categorizes your list by aisle; fruit and vegetables, canned items, meats, dairy, etc. If you are really organized, you can add prices to your favorite products then as you fill your cart, a subtotal will show so you can keep within a budget you’ve set for yourself. They’ve upgraded this app as well to allow you to have different locations. So if you shop at more than one grocery store, you create lists for each one with different prices and aisles.
2. Task Pro by Alifsoft LLC. This one can help with my web design business too, but I primarily keep it for my own home tasks list. For example, you can have a List group called Home Improvement to help me keep a list of items in my home that need repairing or replacing. I need new blinds for my daughter’s room. So I created a list item with dimensions so the next time I am at Lowe’s or Home Depot, I have my list of items to collect before I leave.
3. Pandora. This is a great way to listen to you favorite type of music while waiting at the doctor’s office without purchasing the music or listening to advertisements. It’s even better if you’ve got external speakers that you connect your iPhone to.
4. Midiomi. My daughter loves this one. You sing a song into your iPhone and it will search the archives for that song. Doesn’t matter how badly you sing it, it’ll find it.
5. Just Light by Will von Reis. This has come in handy as a flashlight in the evening or if I am in my storage room in the back.
6. Wikipedia Mobile. Ever wonder the answer to your 7 year old’s crazy question? Well, just access this app with immediate access to Wikipedia. It’s a bit slow to start up but it’s great when you have that random thought or you heard something on NPR, like who is Langston Hughes?
7. Flixster by Jeffrey Grossman. Need to know when the next showing is? Where can we see the latest Pixar movie? Then buy tickets so you don’t have stand in line. It will find your current location and base that on which theaters you might want to go to. Then you pick your favorite theater. On those rare occasions that we have a babysitter, this app has come in handy.
